Bush is a Lousy Politician

by Anatoly O. 08.07.2001

It is common knowledge that politicians always mean the opposite of what they say, promise to build a bridge even where there is no river, could not see a belt without hitting below it, satisfy the seekers only after favors and mollify the inchoate mass with noble sentiments. A true politician could not be truly moral and honest.

A. Hitler and B. Clinton were brilliant politicians. Childhoods for Adolf and Billy were not easy. They knew the popular mind not from books but from practical life. President’s son cannot be street smart.

Bush is naïve. He takes people at their word. The famous Sen. Jim Jeffords was warning President Bush that his proposals would make him a "one-term president", just as his father was, and jeopardize GOP senators seeking re-election. The Americans are determined to see that he pays a political price for his decisions, whatever they are.

The very energetic and intellectual TV show host C. Matthews advised Bush to “say that he is a one-timer. There is no way he is going to get reelected, because the North is going to screw him and Florida is all messed up.” Bush’s Christianity and morality “scare people,” - continued C. Matthews. - “Bush is anti-intellectual.”

George W. Bush has taken wrong positions and stuck to them. Rush Limbough and Dick Cheney agreed that his philosophy of bringing to Washington a new tone of cooperation and goodwill is not working as designed. Bush does not understand, that by indicting senators R. Torricelli and H. Clinton on campaign finance corruption charges, he can get the Senate back.

Even nice old Carter admitted: "I have been disappointed in almost everything he has done.”
